Birds of the Everglades

While visiting Florida, I had the opportunity to explore

Everglades National Park with my trusty Canon 5D Mark iii.

Armed with my long lens and some walking shoes,

I was both thrilled and charmed at the strange (to me)

birds I discovered in this beautiful land.

I felt like either I was on an alien planet

or I had been transported back to the days of the dinos.

Perhaps the birds felt the same way about me...

One bird seemed more beautiful and exotic than the next

and I do have more images of birds from this part of our country

to show you later.

These birds sure did make the birds of Maryland look boring!
